Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade Receives $15,000 Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Grant.

MIAMI, September 15, 2014 ‐ Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade today announced it has received a $15,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation on behalf of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

The grant will be used towards preserving affordable housing in Miami-Dade and is specifically designated to revitalize the home of two veterans residing in Miami. Alice Screen is an 83 year-old widow of a US army veteran who has lived in the home for 55 years, but has struggled with its maintenance due to financial burdens and disabilities. Charles Smith is a 79 year-old veteran who has lived in the home for 8 years and has also struggled with maintenance. The project includes: repairing roof leaks, flooring replacements, renovating the kitchen with new appliances, along with making ADA repairs such as installing grab bars, and renovating the bathroom in order to make it ADA accessible, interior and exterior painting will also take place. Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade is excited to be working with Wells Fargo volunteers as they paint these Richmond Heights homes.
