For Immediate Release

October 29, 2014

MIAMI, Fla October 29, 2014 ‐ Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade today announced it has received a $5,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®.

The grant will be used toward the Safe and Healthy Housing for Military Veterans project that will help preserve affordable housing for several veterans residing in Miami-Dade. Rebuilding Together Miami has completed 51 veteran projects, including 14 veteran projects this year. Veterans who benefit from the Safe and Healthy Housing for Military include an 80-year-old U.S. Air Force Veteran, who served for 35 on active and reserve duty. He has lived with his wife in his home for 37 years, and the couple has struggled with maintenance and undertaking repairs due to health issues. The work scope included new flooring, new kitchen cabinets and appliances, ADA bathroom modifications, installing grab bars, lighting and plumbing repairs, interior and exterior repairs.

Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade is excited to be working with TD to create safe and healthy homes for military veterans and their families.

"We are privileged to be able to serve those who have served our country," said Donna Fales, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc.
