Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade and The Home Depot Foundation team up to Assist an OEF/OIF Army Veteran
For Immediate Release
September 22, 2014
MIAMI, September 22, 2014 ‐ Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade today announced a $15,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation that enables Team Depot, the Home Depot's associate-led volunteer force, and Rebuilding Together Miami to make critical home repairs to a US Army veteran home.
The grant will be used towards preserving affordable housing in Miami-Dade and is specifically designated to revitalize the home of a 49-year old United States Army veteran. This veteran and his family have lived in their home for over 30 years, but have struggled with its maintenance due to health issues and financial burdens.
The project includes: roof replacement, kitchen replacement with new energy saving kitchen appliances, new insulation, ceiling repairs throughout the house, and bathroom modifications.
This project will conclude with an event day that will be held Thursday, September 25 from 8AM to 2PM. The location of the event is: 30103 SW 150th Ct Miami, FL 33033.
Both Rebuilding Together Miami and The Home Depot Foundation have initiatives to assist military veterans with capital improvements to provide a safe, dry and healthy house in which to live. Through this partnership in the last year, a dozen low-income veterans have been assisted with more than $160,000 of market value work donated to the community.
Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade continues to seek corporate sponsors, donations and volunteers for upcoming projects. If you are interested in participating, please contact Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade at (305) 200-5711 or www.rebuildingtogethermiami.org.
