The Miami Dolphins Partners with Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade Partners to Rehab the Home of a 101 Year-Old Woman

MIAMI, June 7, 2013 ‐ Miami Dolphin volunteers and players including Brandon Fields, Nolan Carroll II and Nate Garner teamed with the 758th Engineer Company to paint and landscape the home of a 101 year-old West Perrine homeowner today. Volunteer Diane Philbin, wife of head coach Joe Philbin, and their two children Tim, age 17, and Colleen, age 12, are believers in giving back to the community which they demonstrated today.
The Miami Dolphin Foundation contributed $5000 to make the critical repairs on the Grant home. The 758th Engineer Company of the United States Army are completing the repairs which include a wheelchair ramp, ADA bathroom improvements, electrical repairs, flooring repairs, window repairs, new interior doors, interior and exterior painting and landscaping. To top it all off the Miami Dolphins Foundation generously provided Ms. Grant with much needed kitchen appliances such as a refrigerator, stove and a microwave.
Ms. Grant exclaimed, "I know that it will feel like a brand new house. I can't believe that all of this is happening. I feel loved today. Thank you all."
Ms. Ruby Grant, age 101, raised three boys in her home of 63 years. Ms. Grant, has been an active member of her community, serving on various committees such as the Perrine Community Action Agency, the Seniors of Dade County, Inc. as well as President of the Perrine Senior Citizen Center.
