Joining the Build a Legacy Club is easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Step One  Include Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade as a beneficiary of a gift or asset from your estate. There is no minimum gift requirement, and there are several ways to make your gift. A few ways include a bequest through your will, beneficiary designations of IRAs, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, and life insurance policies.

Step Two  Complete our Statement of Intent to indicate the purpose of your gift. Your gift can be used for unrestricted community support or be designated to benefit a specific program of your choice. Your Statement of Gift Intent can be changed at any time.

Step Three  Let us know how you’d like to be recognized. We would like to honor you in a way that is meaningful to you and your family. Membership in the Build a Legacy Club serves as an example for others to follow. If you prefer, we will honor your request for anonymity.

Forms of Planned Giving

A Bequest in a Will  The easiest and most common way of making a planned gift is through a bequest in your will.  You can designate a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate, or a specific asset. Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc. could also be named as a contingent beneficiary.

Life Income Gifts  Gifts such as a charitable gift annuity, a charitable remainder trust, or a pooled income fund provide you and/or your designated beneficiary income for life.  Upon your passing, Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc. receives the gift.  Life income gifts generally reduce or eliminate certain taxes and guarantee an income for life.

Life Insurance  Life insurance can be used to make a sizable gift to Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc.  For example, you can purchase a new policy and make Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc. the owner and beneficiary of the policy or transfer an existing policy you no longer need.

A Life Estate  You can deed your home to Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc. and retain the right to live in the property and/or receive income from the property for as long as you or your beneficiaries live.  A life estate gift reduces capital gains, inheritance and estate taxes and offers an income tax deduction as well.

Residuary Bequest  A residuary bequest is made from the residue, or what remains in a donor’s estate after specific and cash bequests, taxes, settlement costs and debts are satisfied. This type of bequest is sensitive to changes in the size of the estate over time.

“I give the residue (% of the residue) of my estate to Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc., a Florida non-profit organization, 3628 Grand Ave, Miami, FL 33133, to further the objectives and purposes of Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc.”
